2020 - Miriam Hernandez-Kakol

Miriam moved to New Jersey more than 30 years ago with the idea to complete a two year assignment at Bell Communications Research and then return to her lovely beach side community in Southern California.  Fate and two young sons intervened and 30 years later she still lives in Florham Park, New Jersey with her husband, Glen Kakol. The two were introduced by their two young sons who had become fast friends. Miriam relishes spending time with their children and five grandchildren both here in NJ and at their beautiful home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  She is an enthusiastic golfer, having played in various PGA and KPMG-sponsored events with Phil Mickelson and Stacy Lewis, both brand ambassadors for KPMG.  Miriam and Glen are members at Fairmount Country Club in Chatham, NJ as well as Vista Vallarta Golf Club in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Miriam is a senior partner at KPMG in the Short Hills, NJ office. As global head of KPMG’s Management Consulting business, she plays a significant, trategic role

leading a team of more than 24,000 partners and professionals to build and execute its strategy, to deploy client facing global priority solutions, and to maintain the business’ double-digit growth momentum. Miriam stays extremely focused on the needs of KPMG clients including managing one of its largest account relationships in the US. Before this role, she led the firm’s Global Customer and Operations practice, which is focused on delivering industry-specific solutions for the front and middle office challenges of Fortune 1000 clients. In this role, she oversaw a team of more than 2,000 partners and professionals. In 2009, Miriam helped to launch KPMG’s Management Consulting business which since its inception has been the fastest growing part of KPMG’s global Advisory portfolio.

Miriam is passionate about giving back to the community by supporting various charities as well as being an active mentor both inside and outside of KPMG.  Her board service has included the NJ Golf Foundation, NJ Junior Achievement, National Academy Foundation STEM Committee and others. She currently volunteers on multiple boards and committees focused on enhancing education and career opportunities for women, Latinx professionals, and students, particularly the Hispanic IT Technology Executive Council (HITEC). For the past three years, Miriam has been featured as one of ALPFA and Fortune’s 50 most powerful Latinas.

12th Annual Peter Famiano Pro Am

trump national golf club, Bedminster (new course)

June 25th, 2020

Peter Famiano was the PGA Head Golf Professional at Crestmont Country Club for over 35 years and made significant contributions to the game of golf in New Jersey.

Peter held every office of the New Jersey PGA including serving as the Section's President from 1994-1996. He served as the Montclair State University golf coach, was an active member of the NJSGA Caddie Scholarship and the NJPGA Employment Committees and a continual supporter of the MGA Golfworks Program.

Through his involvement in all of the volunteer opportunities mentioned, Peter mentored hundreds of professionals, many of whom moved onto their own Head Professional positions. But Crestmont Country Club was always near and dear to Peter's heart. Whether it was the years spent side-by-side working with his beloved Beverly, or the opportunity to serve the wonderful club membership, Crestmont always came first.

Peter FaMiano
