Upper Montclair Country Club

Upper Montclair Country Club has been named the 2019 New Jersey Golf Foundation Golf Club of the Year. Under the direction of its Head Professional, Michael Holiday, Upper Montclair has consistently showed great support for the New Jersey Golf Foundation.


For the last 5 years, it has hosted its Annual “Kris Kringle Open”, a very popular and well attended, Santa Clause themed day of golf that supports local charities including the New Jersey Section’s PGA Hope Program, a program in which veterans assimilate back into their communities through the social interaction the game of golf provides.


The New Jersey Golf Foundation as well as the New Jersey PGA congratulates Upper Montclair Country Club, its staff, and its membership on this award.

Fiddler's Elbow Country Club

March 27, 2019

Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club, home site of the New Jersey Golf Foundation and New Jersey PGA, was presented with the 2018 NJGF Club of the Year Award for the second consecutive year.​


Special events hosted by Fiddler’s Elbow included the Special Olympics New Jersey Level One Skills Competition, PGA Junior League Final Four, Provident Bank Women’s Golf Day, and the Annual Mixed Stix Pro Am.


The 2nd Annual Mixed Stix Pro Am presented by Northeast Lock, having immediate success, raised more than $26,000.

Fiddler's Elbow Country Club

December 08, 2017

Fiddler's Elbow Country Club was presented with the 2017 NJGF Club of the Year Award.

This is the first time that Fiddler's Elbow has received this award, but the club was named the 2016 NJPGA Club of the Year last season. Fiddler's Elbow has a commitment to junior golf, and hosted up to four events for the New Jersey Golf Foundation in 2017.

Highlights of Fiddler's Elbow season

  • Hosted the First Annual Special Olympics NJ Level I State Championship, Provident Bank Foundation Women’s Pro Am, and First Annual Mixed Stix Pro-Member-Guest.

  • Mat Kent, Director of Golf at Fiddler’s Elbow, lead New Jersey’s PGA HOPE team to a victory at the Second Annual Secretary’s Cup, which was held in conjunction with the 2017 PGA Championship.

  • Running a PGA Jr. League team presented by RWJ Barnabas Health during the 2017 season captained by Jeremy Eccles. 

  • Hosted the PGA Jr. League Final Four in August.

Cherry Valley Country Club

December 09, 2016

Cherry Valley Country Club was presented with the 2016 NJGF Club of the Year Award. PGA Professional Allan Bowman, who has helped raise money for the NJGF, helped lead the Skillman, NJ club to yet another club honor. 


Cherry Valley first won the award in 2004. Cherry Valley Country Club is a Platinum Level Associates Partner of the NJGF and has consistently helped raise money at its club to benefit our mission. Cherry Valley's General Manager is Alex Evans, and its Golf Chairman is Scott Carpenter.

Highlights of Cherry Valley's season

  • Director of Golf Allan Bowman and John Hayes competed in a 100-hole marathon, a 15-year anniversary since their first. 

  • Over $18,000 was donated through their 100-hole marathon.

  • Running a PGA Jr. League team during the 2016 season captained by Adrienne Hogan. 

  • Over $43,000 raised by the club and membership.

  • Participates in the NJGF's High School JV Program.

  • Cherry Valley's staff volunteered more than 20 hours to the NJGF's programming.

Springdale Golf Club

November 11, 2015

Springdale Golf Club was presented with the 2015 NJGF Club of the Year Award for their philanthropic generosity, support of Golf in Schools and Special Olympics, and the club’s commitment to the PGA Junior League.


Highlights of Springdale’s generousity:

  • The entire Golf Professional staff completed the “Holes for Hope” marathon, which raised $10,000 for the New Jersey Golf Foundation.

  • Springdale Golf Professionals spent 12 hours at the Trenton Catholic Academy during “Golf Month.”

  • Springdale Golf Professionals spent 6 hours working with SONJ golfers, during Camp Shriver and their Fall Festival.

  • Springdale Golf Club sponsored Quentin Green, a Trenton Catholic Academy student for the summer. He spent 55 hours at Springdale Country Club working on his game, learning about golf etiquette and life skills.

  • Club donated an additional $2,000 on inflatables and a hitting net.
